President - Louise Walker
Louise joined the board of Active Opportunities in 2020 with a desire to help expand the reach of AO to enable more kids to get the chance to enjoy and benefit from the program. Louise's background in sports administration comes from six years as President of Mosman FC and two years as Girls' and Women's VP at MWFA. She is passionate about ensuring football continues to be an inclusive sport so that enthusiasts of all ages and abilities get to enjoy participating in team sport.
In December 2020 Louise took over the Presidency from Edward Ferguson.
Treasurer - Tanya Martin
Tanya joined Active Opportunities as Treasurer in mid 2022, having known Louise since 1989 when they were both working at Macquarie Group. Tanya has postgraduate qualifications in finance and teaching and has taught disadvantaged kids and kids with disabilities. She has also worked or volunteered in several not-for-profit organisations.
Board Member - Marc Davies
As Co-Founder of Active Opportunities it has been a shared vision to provide quality accessible sports programs to people with a disability, ensuring these community members have the same access to sports programs to develop their fundamental movement skills, learn new sports and most importantly have fun!
Marc’s personal background is in Program Management where he is currently employed by NSW Health as a Program Manager for the Healthy Children Initiative program. Marc has also worked for many years with the Australian Sports Commission, Police Citizens Youth Clubs (PCYC) and as a Facility Manager in many of Sydney’s Leisure and Aquatic Facilities.
Board Member - John Tansley
John, better know as JT to parents, players and the wider Northern Beaches community came on board with Active Opportunities in 2017 bringing with him a wealth of local community knowledge contacts and passion for the program. JT has been critical in engaging the Northern Beaches community and continues to lead by way of action with his ever-presence on Saturday mornings amongst our players.
Board Member - Stefanie Overton
Stef joined the board in 2020. Stef brings knowledge and experience in teaching young children, many years of football playing , and is a mother of a daughter with Down Syndrome. This trifecta means Stef is passionate about supporting Active Opportunities to generate greater community links that result in the inclusion of more children in sport.
