Street Football Project
The Street Football Project is a sports coaching and coach education project to help support young offenders and substance misusers to enter into physical activity and education programs within disadvantaged communities. Street Football is an inspired, imaginative, artistic, resourceful and innovative project used to empower young people and communities through having fun and positive experiences.
What’s the point?
Our aim is to persuade youngsters to return to sport to help keep them engaged and encourage socially acceptable behaviour with a view to getting our participants to have better health and wellbeing, to make better life style choices, get into work, mainstream education or training.
Ultimately the project takes sport to young people within their own communities, provides an alternative to drugs and alcohol and aims to divert youths away from anti-social behaviour.
What will the participants get?
- Structured, but flexible sport program
- Qualified Sports Coaches
- Gain skills and opportunities within education, training, employment, volunteering, confidence, leadership, planning, decision making, organisation, innovation and problem solving.
- Getting active whilst developing personal skills such as self-esteem, communication, confidence, commitment, friendship, cooperation, teamwork and goal setting and respect for others in their community.

- The best thing about the project is that it can be delivered anywhere such as in parks, housing commissions, car parks, youth clubs and anywhere there is some space.
