Golf Challenge Fundraiser
Age, Ability & Competition did not matter… it was all in the name of fun and for a good cause.
On Saturday 9th November 2013 saw Active Opportunities Inc hold their first inaugural fundraiser to raise some funds and to support their Saturday Disability Sports Program based at Fisher Rd School Dee Why.
The rain stayed away and allowed Active Opportunities Inc to start the day off with a round of par 3 golf. With 60 people attending the event it was always going to be a tough ask to be the overall leader at the end. It was a great event that saw young and older participants/supporters come together and support the cause. Half way through a presentation about the programs Active Opportunities Inc conduct and a bbq commenced. Once the half time break had been completed it was back out to the green to finish off the remaining rounds. At the end of the event the raffle and silent auction was announced with a wide spread of winners.
Active Opportunities Inc managed to raise a total of $5,027 that will help towards 14 children with a disability being able to get the chance to experience safe, fun and structured sports programs in 2014.
Active Opportunities Inc would like to say a big thank you to all the sponsors, donations, participants, family, friends and staff that made this event so special and possible. Look out for Active Opportunities Inc 2014 Fundraisers.
